Emma O’Driscoll is a television and radio presenter for RTÉ, a children’s book author and voiceover artist.
Emma started out her career as a singer and entertainer for Bunratty castle. Emma auditioned for The Irish Popstar’s talent competition and landed a place in the pop band “SIX” . Their first single ’There’s a Whole Lot Of Loving’ is still the fastest-selling single in Irish history and received the number one spot for the decade countdown. “SIX” released two multi-platinum selling singles and had a top five album in Ireland. They also had a No.1 single in Norway and New Zealand. They toured extensively with Westlife in the Uk and Scandinavia.
Following this Emma took part in RTÉ’S “Inside Charity 252”, where she hosted a simulcast programme on radio and television for people in need, raising €40,000 for charity in the process. Following the success of this programme she began working for Limerick’s Live 95FM co-hosting breakfast radio and also presented her own show “Emma’s Saturday Night Party”.
Soon after, Emma got her first Tv presenting role on the “Disney Club” every Saturday and Sunday morning for RTÉ’S The Den Children’s Channel. Emma has continued to present for the National broadcaster for almost 9yrs. She presented over 800 episodes of “Den Tots”, 300 episodes of “Hubble” and was also the presenter on numerous other children’s and teens programmes ranging from “The Buzz”, broadcast live everyday to “Jam The Musical Talent Search”, “The Clue Crew” a treasure hunt show and “Pic – A – Story” a story time series.
Emma grew up singing and dancing and even competed and won Hip Hop and Freestyle Championship titles in Ireland and Europe. Using this experience she continues to bring performing arts to the forefront on television, most recently choreographing, singing, writing and presenting on a brand new series of dance fitness for children called “Move It” on RTÉ Jr. She also presented a number of singing series called “Dance Party”, “Bandstand” and “Sing –A- Long”. Her “Move It” programme carries over into Rté Jr Radio where she presents a music programme every Saturday and Sunday morning.
Emma published her first children’s book called “The Mis Adventures Of Max” for the BABY MAX WINGS OF LOVE FUND. Emma has been a judge for the Eurovision Song Contest for 5 years continuous and chaired the panel for Ireland too.
Emma’s Tv experience continues into programmes such as “Celebrity Bainisteoir” where she took on the role as manager for a team of Limerick Footballers, “The All Ireland Talent Show”, where she was a judge for the South Auditions and “Jigs and Reels”, where she gave Irish dancing a try. She has frequently been a contributor for prime time programming such as “The Afternoon Show” and “Two Tube” and for the last 5 years, has been a regional spokesperson for “The Late Late Show Eurovision”. Recently Emma presented the “Cavan Fleadh Ceoil” for SKY ARTS and also a simulcast broadcast for “Goal For U”, broadcast on both 2FM Radio and RTÉ Online.
Following this Emma has presented for radio on Spin South West’s “The Zoo Crew Hot 30” and has been a contributor on radio programmes with Ryan Tubridy, Derek Mooney and Dave Fanning.
Emma has completed her Final grade in speech and drama with The Irish Board Of Speech and Drama and is a certified practitioner of NLP Neuro Linguistic Programming.
Emma continues her love for the stage also and has performed in pantomime with the Limerick Panto Society for over 6 years, playing roles such as Cinderella, Belle from Beauty and The Beast, Maid Marion in Robin Hood, The Genie in Aladdin and is currently playing the part of Tinkerbell for Peter Pan.
